"Ladies, if you have a guy who helps out all day, maybe even cooks,
thank God. They’re few and far between."

Guess what, Donna. I'm married to a man that cooks Thanksgiving dinner and hates sports (accept the kids basketballs games our daughter cheers for). We have a never spoken agreement - he cooks and I clean. It has been this way from the beginning of our relationship. I cook from Monday to Friday, and he takes over the weekends, parties and holidays. He is a great cook, and has even catered fundraisers for our girls' school.

Have a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving. This is my favorite holiday.

  2. Marilyn, that's wonderful! My husband isn't really so bad as the article implies. *g* I took a bit of artistic license. But he does like football!

May you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  3. Hi Donna,

That was very good. Brought a smile to my face. Though believe it or not, I am not really that much into football.

    Thanks for sharing it!

Be blessed and have a super Thanksgiving my friend!

Touché! Yesterday was the first day that I ever did the early morning day-after-Thanksgiving run. I've learned which stores to hit again on the day after Thanksgiving and which ones were a real dissapointment and a waste of time. It IS an art. I think I've figured out that enthusiasm, experience and strategic planning are required in order to do it right. I'm learning.

After reading your article, I see that watching football requires the same effort. The difference is that we ladies have something to SHOW for our effort. :)

    Hi Donna,

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I'd like to add that my father-in-law is a great dish washer. LOL

We had a wonderful time. My brother-in-law and his family, as well as my father and mother-in-law stayed over. My girls and their cousins laughed, played and ate. They always have a good time whenever they're together. It was Thanksgiving for over 30 hours. I even got to see my three sons - they stopped by for the cocktail hour, went to their father's and came back for desert (although, they also ate turkey at my home - LOL). It's always great for me to have my five children in the same place at one time. This is my favorite time of year.

  6. Paul, thanks for stopping by!

Ellen, I can't believe you got into that mess. lol! My daughter got up at 5:30 AM to get some good deals. Me? I slept in.

Marilyn, how wonderful to have all five children be with you on Thanksgiving. Truly something to be thankful for. Glad you had a great holiday.
